Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. – Lexi Lenaghan had four goals and an assist leading Babson to a 19-14 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game.
Babson improves to 7-6 overall and 4-1 in conference play while the Bears drop to 9-4 overall and 2-2 in the NEWMAC.
Lenaghan scored the first two goals of the game before Coast Guard scored five straight, two each by Carter Sanderson and Marietta Davis to take a 5-2 lead with 18:10 left in the first half.
Lenaghan's third goal of the game tied the game 5-5 with 15:44 left in the half.
The Bears would score a pair of goals just 28 seconds apart by Sanderson and Brenna Farrington to take a 7-5 lead with 14:29 left in half.
Babson would outscore the Bears 7-2 the rest of the half to take a 12-9 lead at halftime.
The Beavers would take control of the game scoring the first three goals of the second half pushing the lead to 15-9 with 24:44 left.
Julia Harrigan, Taylor Herrmann, Taylor Thorbahn and Juliana McGuire each scored three times for Babson in the win while Georgia Salvatore had a game-high three assists.
Farrington led the Bears with four goals while Carter Sanderson had three goals and Marietta Davis added a pair of goals for Coast Guard.
Olivia Phelan (3-2) came played the final 44:57 in goal and made six saves while allowing eight goals to get the win.
Mary Budri (2-2) made 13 saves in for the Bears and took the loss.
Babson outshot the Bears 37-26.
Coast Guard is back in action on Wednesday night when the Bears host Wellesley in a NEWMAC game at 4:00.
