WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshmen Kyle Fager and Chris Lansing both won their singles matches and teamed up to win at #3 doubles leading Coast Guard to a 6-2 win at Division II Assumption in the first dual meet of the season for both teams.
Fager was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at #5 singles while Lansing recorded a 6-1, 6-1 win at #6 singles for the Bears. The freshmen duo won 8-2 at #3 doubles.
Sophomore Adam Bahney also picked up a pair of wins as he was a 6-4, 6-4 winner at #2 singles and teamed with junior Tom Hackett to win 8-5 at #1 doubles for the Bears.
Senior Mike Melampy picked up a win for Coast Guard, a 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 win at #4 singles.
The Bears are back in action on Sept. 30th at the ITA Regionals.
