Box Score 2 HOBOKEN, N.J. – Coast Guard rallied from a two game deficit to beat FDU-Florham to split a pair of matches in the second and final day at the Ducks Classic at Stevens.
The Bears lost a five-setter to Stockton in the first match of the day.
Senior Michelle McGill moved into third place on the Bears all-time digs list as she registered 34 in the two matches to finish the day with 1,483 passing Cassie Janssen ('98) who had 1,465 career digs.
STOCKTON 3, COAST GUARD 2
Stockton scored the final five points of the match in the fifth set and outlasted the Bears 19-25, 25-13, 25-13, 21-25, 15-9.
Bridget Boyle led the Bears with 16 kills, while Angelou Dunton (11) and Alexi Deane (10) both had double-figure kills for Coast Guard. Makenna Martin and Veronica Hine led the way with 23 assists each while McGill had a team-high 10 digs.
COAST GUARD 3, FDU-FLORHAM 2
The Bears rallied after dropping the first two games to win 21-25, 17-25, 25-13, 25-22, 15-13.
Dunton had a huge match registering a double-double with a match-high 17 kills to go with 18 digs while hitting .302. Deane added 13 kills, Boyle 11 kills and 17 digs and senior Madison Scott had eight kills and a team-high four blocks in the win.
Martin led the way with 42 assists to go with 15 digs while McGill had match-high 24 digs.
Coast Guard (14-9) is back in action when the Bears host Smith in the final home match of the season at 7:00.
