NORTON, Mass. – Coast Guard fell to Wheaton in their second New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game of the season 16-0 in Norton, Massachusetts.  

The Bears fall to 2-7 overall (0-2 NEWMAC) while the Lyons improve to 5-5 on the season and a perfect 2-0 in the NEWMAC, 

Wheaton put up 11 goals in the first half and five in the second half in the victory.

Bear sophomore goalkeeper, Angela Fay (2-7), came up with 10 saves on 26 shots faced in 60 minutes of action.  Fay leads the NEWMAC  with 89 saves on the season

Molly Witten earned her fifth win of the season after playing nearly 40 minutes in goal for Wheaton, coming up with just one save on one shot faced. Galicia Rothe also saw time in net for the Lyons. 

Coast Guard junior midfielder Sierra Webb led the Bears with two caused turnovers, while also picking up two groundballs. Senior Kaitlin Dickson and sophomore Kira Dabrowski led the Coast Guard with three groundballs each. 

The Lyons outshot the visitors, 35-6, while collecting 29 groundballs and winning 13 of the 17 draw controls. The Bears finished 4-of-9 in clears, compared to the Lyons who were 1-of-2. 

Coast Guard returns to the field on Wednesday, April 6 with a NEWMAC contest against Springfield. The game is set to start at 7 p.m.
