Box Score NEW LONDON, Conn. – Junior Allie Bush had a game high eight points with four goals and four assists leading Wheaton over Coast Guard 19-1 in NEWMAC competition.
Senior Holly Moore had the Bears (3-5, 0-2) lone goal giving her six on the season.
The Lyons (6-4, 2-0) had 11 different players contributing points with junior Brook Sabol scoring a game high five goals and one assist. Sabol is tied for second in the NEWMAC conference with 28 goals on the season. Junior Madison Cohen had three goals and an assist while junior Aya Myette had two goals.
Wheaton quickly ran out to 4-0 lead within the first four minutes of game. Senior Kelsie Jenquine had two assists over this stretch.
Moore would score at the 26:08 mark making the score 4-1 but would only manage five more shots over the rest of the game.
The Lyons would score eight more goals in the first half and seven more in the second half to Wheaton their second NEWMAC win of the season.
Freshman Angel Fay six saves on 25 shots bringing her season record to 3-5. Fay is third in the conference with 25 saves.
Senior Katy Ananian made four saves allowing one goal raising her season record to 6-3. Freshmen Molly Witten and Galicia Rothe both split time in the second half facing zero shots.
The Bears return to action on Wednesday April, 1st when they travel to Springfield, Massachusetts for a NEWMAC contest against Springfield College. Game time is 7:00 pm.
