WELLESLEY, Mass. - Two late second half goals propelled Wellesley to 2-0 win over Coast Guard in NEWMAC action.

With the the loss the Bears fall to 6-10 overall and 2-7 in conference play. The Blue improve to 8-5-3 on the season and 3-4-2 in NEWMAC competition.

Wellesley outshot Coast Guard in the first half 9-2 as freshman goalkeeper Rachel Boohar stepped up to make five saves. 

Both goals for the Blue came with less than four minutes left in the game when sophomore Shawna Dunham scored an unassisted goal at the 86:04 mark for her second goal of the season and a 1-0 lead for Wellesley.

With one second left in the game sophomore Melissa Knowles added an insurance goal as she also scored an unassisted goal for her third of the season.

Boohar (5-10) made 11 saves on 21 shots, 13 on goal. She is third in the conference with 98 saves on the season. 

Senior goalkeeper Kat Goldsmith made six saves on ten shots, six on goal. She is first in the NEWMAC with 9 shutouts this season.

Coast Guard return to action Thursday, October 29th, when they host cross town rival Mitchell. Kickoff is 6:00 pm.
