NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard closed out the Fall portion of the schedule with a convincing 9-0 win over Nichols.
Mark Guentert was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at #1 singles, Thomas Hackett won 6-4, 5-7, 10-3 at #2, Robert Renfrow was a 6-1, 6-1 winner at #3. Weston Fortna registered a 7-5, 6-3 win at #4 singles, Michael Melampy was a 6-4, 6-2 winner at #5 singles and John Hu won 8-3 at #6 singles.
In doubles action, Guentert and Fortna won 8-2 at #1, Benson Errington and Hackett cruised to an 8-1 win at #2 doubles and Melampy and Jack Phillips were 8-4 winners at #3 doubles.
Coast Guard improves to 4-1 on the season while Nichols drops to 2-2 on the season.
