Box Score 2 WALTHAM, Mass. – Coast Guard split a pair of matches at the Brandeis Invitational as the Bears beat Wesleyan 3-1 before falling to Williams 3-0.
Freshman
Summer Adams was named to the All-tournament team for the Bears, who are now 5-2 on the season.
In the first match of the day, Coast Guard beat Wesleyan 3-1 (25-19, 25-27, 25-16, 25-16) as junior
Ashley Dumont led the Bears with 10 kills to go with a pair of blocks and Adams added seven kills, five aces and seven digs. Junior
Maggie Hine led the team with 26 assists while freshman
Michelle Hernandez added 20 assists in the win.
In the final match of the day, Williams beat the Bears 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 28-26). Sophomore
Susan West led the Bears with 11 kills while Dumont finished with seven kills and two blocks. McGill had a team-high 11 digs while freshman
Madison Scott added three kills.
"It was a great day at the Brandeis Invitational where I think we learned a lot," said Coast Guard head coach Aylene Ilkson. "

Michelle Hernandez and
Michelle McGill defensively. We fought really hard both matches and I'm proud of what we accomplished as a team this weekend.

The Bears are off all week and will host rival Merchant Marine on Saturday at noon.
