NEW LONDON, CONN.--(11/30/11)--Sophomore Kaitlin Ward has been named to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) first weekly honor roll for her performance in the first three games of the season.

Ward averaged a double-double with 21.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in three victories for the Coast Guard Academy. She also dished out 17 assists and added 10 steals for the Bears, who are off to a 4-0 start after winning just three games last season.

She is second in the NEWMAC with 18.8 points per game while leading the conference with 10.8 rebounds per game this season.

The Bears open New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play tonight at Wheaton at 7 p.m.
