Emily O'Donnell enters her fifth season as assistant coach for the women's basketball team. She also serves as a SAAC advisor. 

Prior to Coast Guard, O'Donnell spent two seasons as a graduate assistant coach for the women's basketball team at Misericordia University. She earned her Masters Degree in Organizational Management Health Care from Misericordia.

While coaching at Misericordia, the team had their winningest record in a two-year span and was named to the WBCA Academic Top 25 Honor Roll. O'Donnell coached the Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom and ECAC-Division III North Region Women's Player of the Year in 2016-17. The Cougars also led the conference with the most community service hours.

O’Donnell earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Albright College where she was a four-year member of the women's basketball team and held the career record for games played.

She was named to MAC Commonwealth All-Sportsmanship team selection and was Albright's NCAA Woman of the Year in 2016.

As a senior team captain, O’Donnell helped Albright secure the MAC Commonwealth title and a trip to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. That year the Lions finished ranked 9th in the nation for the best finish in program history. She led the Lions to MAC Commonwealth and ECAC championship appearances as a junior.
