NEW LONDON, Conn. — 

United States Coast Guard Academy Athletics is proud to announce men's soccer senior Cole Miller (Annapolis, Md.) and women's soccer junior Ella Pottle (Epping, N.H.) as the CoastGuardAthletics.com Cadet-Athletes of the Week, presented by First Command, for their performances during the week ending on Sunday, September 27th.

Miller, a senior midfielder, scored and assisted during the men's soccer team's 2-0 non-conference win at Rhode Island College last Tuesday. He helped the Bears get going in the 5th minute by recording the second assist on the opening goal, and gave his squad some insurance by netting his fourth goal of the season in the 58th. Miller leads Bears men's soccer in goals, assists (2), and points (10).

Pottle, a junior midfielder, helped women's soccer pick up a crucial point on the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) table during this past Friday's game against Babson College. In the 4th minute, she sent a shot towards goal from 40 yards out, which flew in and over the reach of the goalie. The Bears eventually took a 1-1 result against the Beavers. Pottle leads the team in goals (2) and points (5).

Miller and the men's soccer team (4-2-1) will be back in action tonight at 6:00 PM ET to host Western New England University (2-3-3) before returning to conference play on Saturday to host Worcester Polytechnic Institute (0-4-4) at 11:30 AM. Pottle and women's soccer (2-2-4) will hit the road on Saturday for their only game of the week, facing NEWMAC foes #4 MIT (7-1-1) at 4:30 PM.
