NEW ORLEANS, La. — 

Ten current and former United States Coast Guard Academy track & field cadet-athletes have been recognized as 2026 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Athletes, as announced by the organization last Monday.

Honorees must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale while meeting any of the following athletic criteria: finish the season with a top-50 individual mark or as part of a top-35 relay team, as verified by the descending indoor and outdoor lists on TFRRS; or be a qualifier either of the 2026 national championship meets.

Four men and six women represented the Academy on their respective lists, led by recent graduate Claire Semerod (Centennial, Colo.) and rising senior Ian Naff (Arlington, Va.). The pair of Marine and Environmental Sciences majors wore the Blue & Orange at the 2026 Indoor National Championships, where they earned Second Team All-America distinction in their respective events of the mile and the 400m.

Scott Bayliss (Hudson, Ohio; MES), Brendan Fant (East Lyme, Conn.; Civil Engineering), and Paul Hobbs (Vacaville, Calif.; Government) were the other Bears on the mens' list. The women were rounded out by Mollie Brinker (Wilmington, N.C.; Civil Engineering), Tara Jessen (Signal Mountain, Tenn.; Civil Engineering), Bianca McIntosh (Woodbridge, Va.; Management), Alaina Stonebraker (Salt Lake City, Utah; Government), and Millie Wymbs (Salisbury, S.C.; Civil Engineering).
