NEW LONDON, Conn. —

United States Coast Guard Academy Athletics is proud to announce senior soccer player Andres Villasana (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) and junior rower Laine Emanation (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) as the CoastGuardAthletics.com Cadet-Athletes of the Week, presented by First Command, for the week ending on Sunday, October 11th.

Villasana assisted on the first of two goals in the men's soccer team's mid-week New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) contest at MIT last Wednesday. Later in the week, on Saturday, the senior midfielder provided the lone and winning goal in the team's victory over league foes Emerson College.

Emanatian helped the women's rowing team's first eight place third in the non-Division I race at the annual Head of the Housatonic regatta on Saturday. The junior sat in the stroke seat of the Bears' A-boat and helped them cross the finish with a time of 16:26.9 in their first race of the year.

Villasana and the men's soccer team will visit Bridgewater State University this upcoming Saturday for their next game. Meanwhile, Emanation and the women's rowing team will continue their fall racing slate this weekend at the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston.
