WORCESTER, Mass. –

In a road battle vs league foe Clark, Coast Guard fell 68-50 for their sixth straight loss. With the victory, the Clark Cougars improve to 14-7(10-2 NEWMAC). They will next travel to Emerson College, Saturday February 8th at 1:00 PM. 

It was a low scoring affair in Worcester, with both teams scoring below their season average. Both squads struggled to score on the night, Coast Guard shot just 25.4% from the field with Clark shooting 38.6%. From beyond the arc, Coast Guard was 1-18 with Clark just 4-23 for a combined 12% three point percentage between the teams. The Bears defense however, forced a season high in turnovers for Clark with the Cougars turning the ball over 20 times. CGA in turn had 11 of their own.

Eight different Coast Guard men recorded a steal tonight, with senior Ben Yagey(Highlands Ranch, CO) and freshman Colin Huang(Irvine, CA) leading the way with two each. Yagey also led the team in points with 14 and added three rebounds and a block while Huang led the way in assists with three. Also in double figures for the Bears was freshman Aiden Dabbondanza(Gaithersburg, MD) who scored 11 points in his second consecutive impressive performance in his rookie campaign.

With the loss, CGA falls to 7-13(3-8 NEWMAC). 

Coast Guard will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host the MIT Engineers at 1:00 PM. Prior to the game, the Bears will honor their five seniors: Cameron Brown(Ellicott City, MD), Adryan Herron(St. Leonard, MD), Declan Rooney(Seattle, WA), Bryce VanderWiere(Schoolcraft, MI), and Ben Yagey(Highlands Ranch, Co).
