MEDFORD, Mass. --
The Bears were knocked out of competition on the first day of ITA's. To start off the day, the Bears doubles duo of
Brendan Love and Ben Bonetto dropped their first round match 8-2 to Tufts' Lachie MacIntosh and Nico Tremblay. The doubles pair held to start off the match but the Jumbos dominated from there.
In singles action, Bears freshman Anthony Gregoire lost to Trinity's Pierce Rutledge 6-0 6-0 in his first college match of his career. Gregoire started off slow and couldn't quite catch up to the big serving Rutledge. In the Bears other singles contest, sophomore Ben Bonetto went down to 7th seeded Nicholas Chen (Williams) 6-2 6-2. Bonetto found his footing at the end of the first set and beginning of the second set, but couldn't keep up with the big hitting Chen.
The Bears are back in action next weekend for the Conn/CGA invitational.
