Women's Lacrosse Downs Wheaton, Wins Four Straight

NORTON, Mass. - Women's Lacrosse was on the road taking on Wheaton, downing the Lyons, 14-9, to win their fourth straight game.

The Lyons scored first about two minutes into the game, but the Bears answered back at the 9:44 mark off a goal by Kira Howard. The entire opening quarter went back-and-forth as Wheaton would lead, but Coast Guard would answer. Heading into the second quarter, the Bears were trailing, 4-3.

The second 15 is when CGA came alive. The Bears scored eight unanswered goals before the end of the half, taking a commanding 11-4 lead. Abby McAllister had three of the goals, Addy Bass and Caitlyn Coates had two and Mia Becker had one.

Coming out of the break, Wheaton went on a four goal run to cut Coast Guard's lead to three. Becker got CGA's lone goal of the third with just under six and a half to go.

Heading into the final 15, Coast Guard was up, 12-8.

The defense of the Bears only allowed the Lyons to score once in the last quarter, as the offense put up two, ultimately taking the 14-9 win.

McAllister led both teams in goals with six, followed by Bass with three. Maici Mintchwarner recorded nine saves for the Bears.

Coast Guard is now 11-4 overall and 6-3 in conference. The next game will be on the road taking on Clark on April 24th at 5 PM.
