NEWPORT, R.I. - Coast Guard dominated on offense in a victory over Salve Regina. The victory improves them to 6-3 (1-2 NEWMAC). The loss drops Salve to 7-3 (1-2 NEWMAC).
The Bears were led by Sophomore midfielder Abby McCallister. McCallister had a game high eight points with three goals and five assists. She also contributed five ground balls and caused two turnovers. The top goal scorer for CGA was senior
Sarah Skurat, who scored four goals on five shots. Other Bears scoring multiple goals were
Addy Bass with three and
Hannah Warnke with two.
On defense, both
Lauren Henry and
Mia Becker were stellar. The two defenders each had four caused turnovers. The all-time CGA draw control leader Becker added 10 more while also leading the Bears in ground balls with six.
Coast Guard will remain on the road with a NEWMAC matchup at Smith College Saturday at 12 PM.
