NEW LONDON, Conn. - Women's Basketball hosted MIT over the weekend, struggling against the Engineers and suffering their third conference loss with a final score of 72-59.
The Bears got the scoring going with a jumper by
Kelly Hagerty, giving CGA its first two leads in the opening quarter. Despite being down for the majority, Coast Guard came out of the first only trailing by one.Â
Into the second quarter, CGA struggled to get its shots to fall, ultimately trailing by 10 when the break approached.Â
The back half of the game, the Bears were unable to keep up as the Engineers pulled away, ultimately falling and facing their third loss in conference play.Â
Kira Wood and
Glory Blethen led the Bears in scoring with 14, followed by
Dorothy Stotts with 13. Hagerty led all players with 15 rebounds.Â
Coast Guard will next take on Clark on the road at 7 PM on February 7th.Â
