Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

11th ranked RPI too much for Bears to handle

Troy, N.Y.

The Coast Guard Academy men's lacrosse team opened up their season with a 19-3 loss at 11th ranked RPI. The Engineers will next face SUNY Geneseo Wednesday at 4pm.

The Bears were hanging with RPI early on, tying the score at 2-2 in the 2nd quarter on a goal from Ian Feely, assisted by Mason LaForte... Three unanswered RPI goals to close out the half halted the Bears momentum. Other goal scorers for CGA were the aforementioned LaForte and junior defender Nick Butler. Freshman Mason Tucker led the team in ground balls(7) and face-off wins(8).

Coast Guard will look to get their first win of the season in their home opener Saturday vs Nichols at 1pm.
