This week, the National Wrestling Coaches Association(NWCA) released the Division III wrestling preseason poll. As a team, Coast Guard was ranked #8 in the preseason national poll. Reigning National Champion
Chase Randall(Spokane, WA) was ranked #1 nationally in the 133 weight class.
At the regional level, the New England Wrestling Association(NEWA) released their rankings as well, with Coast Guard earning the preseason #2 ranking regionally. Along with being ranked #2 as a team, the Bears also had seven individuals ranked in the top eight in their respective weight classes. Junior
Nikko Beato(San Diego, CA) is ranked #4 at 125, the aforementioned
Chase Randall is #1 at 133, junior
Owen Woolcott(Port Matilda, PA) is #4 at 141, junior
Nathan Fitt(Branchville, NJ) is #2 at 149, senior
Kenny Marra(Salem, OH) is #2 at 184, sophomore
Gabe Monroe(Kirkwood, NY) is #8 at 197, and reigning All-American junior
Carl DiGiorgio(Doylestown, PA) is ranked #1 at 285.
