NEW LONDON, Conn. - Women's Basketball got its fifth straight win on Wednesday night, downing Mitchell with a final score of 84-52.
The Bears scored first and held the lead for nearly the entire game, going up by as much as 40 at one point. They only relinquished the lead when Mitchell tied it up two minutes into the first. It didn't last long as
Dorothy Stotts drained a three to put the Bears up, holding it for the rest if the game.
CGA outscored its opponent in three out of the four quarters. The Bears got 22 points in the paint, 11 off turnovers, 16 fast break points and 32 off the bench.Â
Taylor Lynch went 3-5 from behind the arc. Stotts led the Bears in scoring with 17, followed by
Kira Wood with 16 and Lynch with 11.Wood also had nine assists.
Kelly Hagerty led all players with 15 rebounds and
Mackenzie Hilden recorded 10. CGA as a team had 60 total rebounds.
The Bears now stand at 10-2 overall.
Coast Guard will be back on its home court on January 4th at 1 PM, taking on Colby-Sawyer.Â
