Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Bears Fight All Game, Just Fall by One.

NEW LONDON, Conn. - This weekend, Coast Guard Men's Soccer hosted The Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the first New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game of the season, just falling 3-2.

In the first half of the game, CGA would only get five shots off and none of them would find the back of the net. They found themselves trailing MIT 2-0.

In the final 45, The Engineers would score once again in the first three minutes. However, this would be the last time they would score the remainder of the game.

At 58:54 into the game, the Bears would get on the board from a Cole Miller goal assisted by Andrew Ferderer. With less than ten minutes left in the game, Aidan Marroquin would score a solo goal for a 3-2 score.

The second half was much closer as both teams battled for the win. Both MIT and CGA would each get four shots off all half. Unfortunately for the Bears, they would not be able to get one more shot into the goal and would just fall 3-2.

Bears will look to redeem themselves this Saturday, Sept. 23rd at 12 PM, as they face NEWMAC opponent Wheaton (Mass.).
