Box Score 2 NEW LONDON, Conn. - Softball hosted Eastern Conn. in a non-conference matchup, dropping both games to the Warriors.
In game one, neither team could get on the board until the fifth inning. The Warriors opened up the scoring in the top half, putting up five. The Bears tried to find their rhythm to answer, but couldn't get any across the plate.
The Bears fell in game one, 5-0.
Isabelle Shroyer recorded two strikouts in game one. Lillia Farlow and Natalie Beck had the lone goals for CGA.
Game two was a closer match. The Bears kept the Warriors to just two runs with less hits.
Coast Guard had the opportunity to tie, and possible lead, in the bottom of the sixth inning with the bases loaded and only one out. But the Bears couldn't bring them home, ultimately falling, 2-0.
Depsite the loss, CGA outhit ECSU in game two. The Warriors only had four hits compared to the Bears seven. Dana Walker also recorded six strikeouts for CGA. Selena Serna and Shroyer led the Bears with two hits in game two.
Coast Guard will get back to conference play on April 21st, hosting Springfield in a doubleheader starting at 3 PM.
