NEW LONDON, Conn. - Women's Basketball hosted Westfield State, taking down the Owls with a final score of 90-57.

The Bears outscored their opponent in three out of the four quarters. The first half, Westfield State kept up, but Coast Guard scored first and never gave up the lead for the entire 40 minutes. 

Quarter one ended with the Bears on top, 23-14. The second quarter, the Owls got back within one at the end of the 10 minutes. However, a basket by Kira Wood gave the Bears a three point lead heading into halftime.

The second half was completely dominated by CGA. They went on a 10 point scoring run to open up the last 20 minutes, not allowing WSU to score until over five minutes into the third. 

From there, the Bears ran away with the lead. They outscored the Owls, 22-10 in the third and 29-11 in the fourth to get the win.

Kelly Hagerty had a career high 30 points. She also had 12 rebounds, two blocks and two assists. Glory Blethen led in blocks with 13. She also put up 12 points, two blocks and five assists.

Coast Guard will stay at home to play rival Merchant Marine on December 4th at 7 PM.
