WORCESTER, Mass. - The Coast Guard Women's Swimming and Diving Team swept a Friday night meet against host Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Babson College, Smith College and Brandeis University. The women's season record now stands at 5-1.

The Bears were led by double event winners junior Grace Keogh and first years; Jaida Lippy, Megan Doubrava and Madelyn Paxton. Keogh won both the 200 and 100 yard freestyle events with 1:57.33 and 54.48 respectively. Lippy notched wins in the distance free events, and time of 10:58.70 in the 1000 free and 5:21.92 in the 500 free. Paxton continued her success in backstroke winning both the 100 (1:00.67) and 200 (2:13.52) backstrokes. Doubrava won both the 200 butterfly (2:11.59) and 200 IM (2:14.79).

There were single event winners spread out among their team mates as well. Juniors Tailyn Schaufelberger (1:07.98) and Ellie Hiestand (2:30.31) won the 100 and 200 breaststrokes respectively.

The women also won both relays. The 200 medley relay team of junior Isabel Robey, Schaufelberger, Paxton, and Keogh came home in first place with a time of 1:51.63. The 400 free relay team of Lippy, Hiestand, first year Liliana Feyk and Keogh closed the successful night out in 3:42.83.

The scores of the meets were CGA 194 vs. Babson 67, CGA 205 vs. Brandeis 62, CGA 218 vs. Smith 69 and CGA 189 vs. WPI 98.

The Bears will next compete in back-to-back contests against 2023 NEWMAC runner up Wheaton College on Friday, November 10th and Roger Williams on November 1th.
