NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard Women's Basketball hosted the Albertus Magnus Falcons tonight and would fall 83-77 in the second half.
Bears took the first lead of the game, but then the Falcons would come back and lead by as much as seven. At 6:44 in the first quarter, Albertus Magnus led 11-4.
However, Coast Guard would come back and take the lead at 4:03 left in the first quarter.
The Bears kept the lead all throughout the second quarter and led 42-36 at the half.
In the third, Bears struggled to hold onto the lead. With 1:50 left in the third quarter, the Falcons would take back the lead. Coast Guard trailed by just four at the start of the final quarter.
In the last ten minutes, Coast Guard would come within two points of the lead, but just could not overcome Albertus Magnus.
The Bears would fall 83-77 in the end. Four bears would end the night in the double digits.
Dorothy Stotts led with 20 points, 12 of which came from beyond the arc.
Glory Blethen finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Kira Wood stitched 16 points and nine assists.
Kelly Hagerty also recorded 11 assists and 10 points on the night.
Coast Guard will continue in pre-season play and host Westfield State this Saturday at 1 PM in Alumni Gym.
