Six Bears Earn Football Postseason Honors

Westwood, Mass. – Postseason honors were released by the New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) this afternoon, with six Bears Football Players being recognized.

Harrison Henlsey was awarded Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-Conference. He finished second in the league in rushing, averaging 119.3 yards per game. Hensley's 835 total rushing yards puts him above all rookies and makes him third in the league. He also finished 13th in DIII for all-purpose yards. Hensley also led the league with 150.3 all-purpose yards per game.

Broock Desta and Jacob Vecchio were both named to First Team All-Conference.

Desta had 1154 receiving yards in 75 receptions. He set the single season records for receptions and receiving yards. Desta finished first in the NEWMAC for yards and ninth in DIII. His season high came against Anna Maria on September 9th, where he recorded 237 receiving yards. Desta scored nine receiving TDs and one rushing. 

Vecchio appeared in all 10 games for the Bears this season as an Offensive Lineman. He spent the season helping in the effort to protect CGA quarterbacks. In the final game against Merchant Marine, Vecchio rushed for a TD for the Bears.

Joining Hensley on Second Team All-Conference is Joey Armentrout, William Wolf and Brennan Holt

Armentrout threw for 2711 yards and 18 touchdowns. He set the single season records for passing yards in a season and total offense in a season. Armentrout also finished first in the NEWMAC and 23rd in all of DIII in passin yard. His season high came in the Anna Maria game, where he threw for 374 yards and four TDs. On top of that, he had 201 rushing yards and eight TDs. He also tallied 441 punting yards for the Bears.

Wolf showed out for CGA's defense. He had 21 total tackles, 19 of them being solo. He had 7.5 tackles for loss on the season and two recovered rumbles.

Holt was perfect all season in PATs, hitting all 48. He also tallied 3406 kickoff yards.
