BRISTOL, R.I. - The Men's Swimming Team finished off Roger Williams University for back-to-back wins this weekend. The men are now 6-0 for the season.
The Bears lead off the day with a pool record breaking time of 3:28.78 in the 400-yard medley relay. The relay team of first years Cole Carden, Noah Reice, sophomore Charles Gaines, and junior Colin Twiss made the Seahawk pool record board.
First year Blaise Minckler won the 1000 freestyle in 9:54.59, and the 200 breaststroke in 2:09.95. First year John Kaleta won the 100 breaststroke in a season best 58.76 to continue the Bears youth movement in the breaststroke events. Noah Reice swam to the win in the 100 freestyle in 47.73.
The junior class chipped in with a series of victories spread among Twiss, and classmates Brandon Chhoeung and Sean Lyman. Twiss won the 200 freestyle in 1:43.21, outpacing the second-place finisher by four seconds. Chhoeung won the 500 freestyle in his season best 4:48.83. Lyman kept the junior class in the winner's circle, winning the 200 Individual Medley in his season best 1:55.72.
The Bears closed out the day with a win in the final 200 freestyle relay. Reice, senior Jake Kim, Twiss, and sophomore Victor Parks finished in 1:27.25 for a final time.
The Bears will welcome Brandeis University on November 18 at 12 PM and their first home meet of the season.
