NEW LONDON, Conn. - Volleyball hosted non-conference opponent, Roger Williams today, dropping the match in four sets.
Set one was a back-and-forth battle as each team tried to maintain the lead. Ultimately, Roger Williams took the win, 28-26.Â
The second set began with Coast Guard getting the first point. Once again, the majority of the set was back-and-forth. However, the Bears were able to pull away this time, taking the second, 25-18.
CGA was not able to take that momentum into the final two sets as they dropped the third, 25-21 and the forth, 25-18.
Sophia Galdamez led the Bears with 12 kills, followed by
Shannon Shaw with 10.
Elizabeth Atkinson had a season high six kills.
Maeve Duffin had 32 assists, while
Kaela France had 23 digs.
Coast Guard will return to conference play on October 10th, taking on Springfield on the road at 7 PM.
