WORCESTER, Mass. - Today, Coast Guard Men's Soccer hit the road in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) matchup, shutting out Clark 4-0.
Coast Guard's
Aki Freeman was assisted by
Micah Messner at 7:46 into the first half to give the Bears an early lead.
About 23 minutes later,
Aidan Miles assisted
Miquel Penella for another Bears goal and a score of 2-0. Then at 38:30 into the game, a solo goal from
Andres Villasana would give CGA a three point lead over Clark.
In the first half Bears out shot the Cougars seven to six.
At 14:40 into the second half, Villasana sent another shot towards the box which hit off the foot of Clark's Colin Ruiz and straight into the net. This would give Bears the 4-0 lead.
The Bears owned the second half. They out shot the Cougars eight to two and didn't let them find the back of the net all game. Bears would shut out the Cougars for a final score of 4-0.
Coast Guard Men's Soccer is back on their home field this Tuesday where they'll face Conn. College at 4 PM.
