NEW LONDON, Conn. -- Coast Guard did not drop a set in beating Emerson 9-0 in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) match to run its win streak to five.
Coast Guard improves to 9-2 overall and 4-0 in the NEWMAC while Emerson drops to 4-12 overall and 1-3 in the conference.
Myle Decoste and Sean Dreher won 8-3 at #1 doubles, Lucas Arora and Charles Norman were 8-4 winners at #2 doubles while Paul Choi and Banks Evans won #3 doubles by default for the 3-0 lead.
In singles action, Decoste was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at #1, Evans won 6-0, 6-2 at #2, Norman was a 6-2, 6-1 winner at #3. Choi posted a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4, Logan De Los Santos won 6-1, 6-1 at #5 and Jacob Schellman won by default at #6 singles for Coast Guard.
The Bears are back in action on Friday when they host Babson in a key NEWMAC match between conference unbeatens at 3:00.
