CLERMONT. Fla.-- Catholic handed Coast Guard softball its first loss of the season, 3-2 this afternoon in Clermont. The Bears drop to 1-1 on the season, while Catholic improves to 2-1.

Julia Breidenthal and Selena Serna each had an RBI for the Bears.

The Cardinals took advantage of three errors on Coast Guard to score three runs, take a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning. 

In the sixth inning, Breidenthal had an RBI single to get the Bears on the board 3-1 and in the seventh inning, Serna also had an RBI single but the comeback fell short as Catholic walked away with the 3-2 final.

Coast Guard's second game of the day was canceled due to rain.

The Bears are back on Wednesday, March 9 when they take on Messiah at 9 AM and Plymouth State at 11:15 AM.
