NORTON, Mass. – Coast Guard continued its run through the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) this season with its third straight 9-0 win with the victory at Wheaton to clinch a spot in the NEWMAC Championship match on May 8th.
Coast Guard improves to 3-0 in conference play and 3-2 overall while the Lyons drop to 0-2 in the NEWMAC and 0-3 overall.
Banks Evans dropped the first set 6-2 before winning 6-3, 10-8 at #1 singles, Myles Decoste also dropped the first set 7-5 before winning 6-4, 10-4.
Charles Norman won 6-0, 6-0 at #3 singles, Sean Dreher was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at #4 singles
Kyle Fager won 6-1, 6-3 at #5 singles and Logan De Los Santos won 8-3 at #6 singles for the Bears.
Kyle Fager and Charles Norman won 8-7 at #1 singles, Banks Evans and Myles Decoste were 8-0 winners at #2 doubles while Chris Lansing and Lucas Arora won 8-6 at #3 doubles.
The Bears will have the conference bye next week and close out the regular season at home on May 1st against Babson. A win would have Coast Guard hosting the NEWMAC Championship match on May 8th with an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament on the line.
