KINGS POINT, N.Y.-- Coast Guard tennis swept Merchant Marine Academy on the road, 9-0 on Monday afternoon. The Bears improve to 5-5 on their season.

In doubles action, Tom Hackett and Ryan Casey defeated John Guettlein and Madeline Smith, 8-0. Lucas Arora and Arthur Wicke won 8-4 over Branden Deeter and Connor Campbell. Kyle Fager and Chris Lansing beat Daniel Zakrevski and Justin McGaffigan, 8-1.

The sweep continued in the singles matchups. Hackett defeated Zakrevski 6-0,6-2. Wicke won in a tiebreaker, 6-0, 6-7, 10-2 over McGaffigan. In another tiebreaker, Fager defeated Campbell, 6-3,4-6, 10-0. Lansing won 6-1,6-0 over Deeter. Arora beat Guettlein, 6-0, 6-1. Casey defeated Smith, 6-2,6-0.

The Bears are back at home in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Wednesday, April 10 at 3:30 PM against Clark.
