Bears Compete at Tufts

The second week of racing was an improvement over last week and was definitely a learning experience for the team.

The 1V and 2V women competed in a round robin with racing Tufts and Trinity while the men's 1V had a round robin racing against Tufts and Williams. The 2V and 3V men added a fourth boat there races so they had a match races in the morning and the winners (and loser) matching up in the second race.

Our day of racing started with the men's 3V. As 4/c Brennan Suffern noted, "Coming off of a bad start on the first race against Williams, we put in a lot of intensity and pressure, and carried the lessons learned into the second race." Co-captain 2/c Marissa Marsh continued with the learning theme saying, " We have a lot of new talent... Our races this weekend put us one step closer to building 2 strong eights for the championship season."

One of the most exciting races of the day was the men's 2V - according to tri-captain 1/c Stephen Bruno, they launched, "An early and long sprint that took us from a boat length down to a close finish against Tufts 2V." Tri-captain 1/c Andrew Niedbala said "The potential is there, it's just getting in the habit of delivering it on race day."
