Bears Tripped up by Brewers.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Coast Guard men's tennis team dropped their first match of the spring season falling to Vassar College 8-1 Sunday afternoon at Joss Courts.

With the loss the Bears fall to 4-2 overall while the Brewers improve to 9-6.

The lone winners on the day was Tom Hackett and Jack Phillips in number one doubles as they topped Jeremy Auh and Dom Demeterfi 8-6.

Junior John hu (1-6, 6-4, 2-6), sophomore Jack Phillips (1-6, 6-3, 4-6) and freshman Arthur Wicke (7-6, 4-6, 6-10) all pushed their matches to the brink but could not close out the final set.

The Bears are back in action on Wednesday, April 5th, when they travel to the New York City to take on New York University. First match is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
