NEW LONDON, Conn. – Coast Guard won five of the six singles matches enroute to a season-opening 6-3 win over the Division I Holy Cross.

Sophomore Tom Hackett and freshman Arthur Wicke posted an 8-5 win at #1 doubles, but the Bears trailed 2-1 heading into singles play.

Hackett was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at #1 singles while Wicke posted a 6-0, 6-4 win at #5 singles in his collegiate debut.

Junior John Hu was a 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 10-7 winner at #2 singles while sophomore Jack Philips posted a 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 win at #4 singles and classmate Adrian Chau was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at #6 singles for the Bears.

Coast Guard is back in action on Saturday  at the CGA/Conn. College Invitational.
