DUDLEY, Mass. -- Coast Guard won four of the six singles matches and swept all three doubles matches in a 7-2 win over Nichols.
Junior Robert Renfrow won at #2 singles, 6-4, 6-2, junior Weston Fortna (#3 singles) won 6-0, 6-4, freshman Michael Melampy (#4 singles) posted a 7-5, 6-2 win while freshman John Hu (#5 singles) won 6-1, 7-6.
The Bears #1 doubles team of junior Mark Guentert and Fortna won 8-6, the #2 doubles team of Melampy and freshman Benson Errington won 8-4 while Hu and Renfrow posted a 8-4 win for the Bears.
Coast Guard improves to 2-0 on the season and the Bears will close out the Fall portion of the schedule when they host Salve Regina on Oct. 24th at 3 p.m.
