Dana starts his 26th season as a member of the Bears coaching staff. Fleischmann serves as the Defensive Coordinator and coaches the Defensive Backs. In the Spring he will return for his 16th season as an Assistant Softball Coach after temporarily serving as an Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach this past season. He spent his first 9 years at the Academy as an Assistant Track and Field Coach, working primarily with the Throwing Events.

Prior to arriving in New London he spent 1 year at Maine Maritime Academy, serving as an Assistant Football Coach (Running Backs) and Assistant Softball Coach. Fleischmann spent 1 season as a Walk-On member of the football team at Tulane University. He is a 1997 graduate of the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota where he played football and was named to the MIAC All Academic Team in 1996. Dana earned a Masters Degree in Athletic Administration and Physical Education from Northwest Missouri State University in 1999.

Dana’s wife Corinna (USCGA Class of 1998) is a Captain in the Coast Guard and a member of the Academy’s Permanent Commissioned Teaching Staff. Captain Fleischmann is currently serving as the Dean of the School of Leadership and Management (SLAM) at the Academy. They reside in Waterford with their daughters Josslyn (14) and Jayna (10).
