C.C. Grant begins his sixth season as head football coach and 27th year overall at the Coast Guard Academy. At CGA, Grant has a career record of 15-26.

He was named the head football coach replacing Bill George, who retired after 21 seasons, on March 23, 2020. Prior to being named head coach, Grant spent 15 years as the Co-Defensive Coordinator and six years as the Offensive Coordinator.

Coach Grant was the head baseball coach at Coast Guard for 14 seasons (2007-2020) after serving as an assistant coach for seven years. He is second all-time in baseball program history with 184 wins and he guided the Bears to a pair of ECAC tournament berths (2011 and 2013). He led the 2013 team to a program record 24 wins and the Bears only ECAC Championship game appearance.

C.C. , a 1992 graduate of Cortland State, spent six seasons as an assistant football coach at his alma mater, the last two as Offensive Coordinator. During his playing days, Grant was an All-ECAC fullback during the 1990 season as he led the Red Dragons in rushing in 1989 and to an NCAA playoff berth in 1990.

Grant earned a Masters in Physical Education from Cortland State in 1995. While at the Academy, Grant has recruited 11 All-conference football players, three All-region selections and one All-America selection. He was Co-Defensive Coordinator for the 2006 and 2007 teams which won the New England Football Conference (NEFC) Bogan Division championships and earned a spot in the 2006 ECAC North Atlantic Bowl.
