- E.A. Laney High School swim team as a sophomore and junior
- Qualified for regionals in multiple events as a swimmer
- National Beta Club member

- National Society of High School Scholars member
- President's Award for Educational Excellence recipient
OFF THE FIELD
- Son of Matthew and Amanda
- His grandfather,  James Irwin, attended CGA (Class of 1953) and served as a VADM
- His uncle, Dale Chittenden, attended CGA (Class of 1981) and served as a LCDR
- Dale was inducted into the CGA Athletics Hall of Fame in 2011
- His uncle, Mark Gurganus, served as a Major General in the Marine Corps
- His uncle, Wayne Griffin, fought in the Vietnam War as a Navy Seabee 
- His godfather, Danny Page, served as a Combat Controller in the Air Force
