Box Score BETHLEHEM, Penn. –

After a 1-0 loss to Moravian two years ago, the Bears returned the favor this year. In the 33rd minute, junior Bella Brittain (Manassas, Va.) found the back of the net for the only score the Bears would need to start the season on the right foot at 1-0 both in score and in season record. The loss for Moravian moves them to 1-1 on the year. They will next host Muhlenberg College on Wednesday September 9th at 7:00 PM. 

Moravian had more shots (11-7) and more corners (6-1) but despite the Greyhounds opportunities, the Bears held strong. The backbone of the win was the Bears defense. Senior captains Anabelle Pezzullo (Ashaway, R.I.) and Lulu Vlases (Bozeman, Mont.) anchored the defense alongside Kaela Hoss (Old Lyme, Conn.), Mallory Sultan (Ashburn, Va.), and Marcella Minutillo (Great Falls, Va.) all of whom played the full 90. 

In goal, Vlases and Pezzullo's fellow captain Julia Little stopped all three shots sent her way to earn the shutout. The sixth shutout of her career sends Little into a tie at sixth in Coast Guard women's soccer history. 

The goal scorer Bella Brittain tied for the team high in shots(2) and led the Bears in shots on goal with both shots going on target. 

The Bears will look to improve to 2-0 with a Saturday meeting on the pitch at 2:00 pm at Alvernia.
