Bears cruise past Emerson on the road

BOSTON, Mass. –

Coming off three straight losses, Coast Guard jumped out in front early and assured that the streak would not go to four. Eric Key(Clarksville, MD) scored the first goal of the day and after Emerson tied the score at 1-1, CGA rattled off eight unanswered goals to take a commanding 9-1 lead into the early second half. From that point, each team scored three goals and the Bears cruised to a 12-4 victory.

The loss drops Emerson to 2-11(0-6 NEWMAC). They will conclude their regular season on the road at Clark, Saturday April 26th at 1:00 PM.

Coast Guard was led in the win by their dominance on the X. As a team, they went 19-19 on face-offs. Mason Tucker(Alpharetta, GA) led the way, going 14-14. Abraham Al-Khalili(Haymarket, VA) and Bane Klinefelter(Kingwood, TX) each went 2-2 with Carson Throne(Woodstock, GA) was 1-1. They parlayed that dominance into a dominance in time of possession and 12 goals.

Leading the Bears in goals were Eric Key with four and Ezekiel Christian(Stonington, CT) with two. After Key and Christian, six other CGA men scored one goal. They also spread the wealth on the assist, with nine different players each with one assist.

Earning the win in goal, Brett Tobasky(Brookline, MA) allowed just three goals while making nine saves.

The win improves CGA to 8-5(3-3 NEWMAC). They will finish out their regular season at home next Saturday April 26th vs #20 ranked Babson College at 1:00 PM.
