WESTWOOD, Mass. –
After stellar 2024-25 seasons, senior guard
Declan Rooney(Seattle, WA) and junior forward
Luke Farrell(Ortley Beach, NJ) have been named Second Team All-Conference in the NEWMAC. "It is great to see both guys recognized for their efforts" said head coach
Kevin Jaskiewicz.
For Rooney, this is his second selection to the All-Conference team. This year, he ranked 8
th in the NEWMAC in points(368), 10
th in three pointers(37), tied 5
th in assists(82), 5
th in assist to turnover ratio(1.2), and 8
th in steals(38). Declan; as steady as they come for the Bears, started in all but one game this season and played the 3
rd most minutes in the whole league.
"Declan has given a lot to the program over the last four years." said coach Jaskiewicz. "To be named All-NEWMAC for a second year is quite an accomplishment."
Declan will graduate in May with his finger prints all over the Coast Guard basketball record book. He is tied for 10
th all-time in points(1174), 9
th in assists(249), 10
th in steals(103), 7
th in three pointers made(146), and 4
th in free throw percentage(82.4).
Junior forward
Luke Farrell is on the All-NEWMAC team for the first time in his career after a breakout junior season. In the conference, he ranked 1
st in blocks(36), 5
th in points(383), 2
nd in free throws made(104), and 7
th in rebounds(159).
Coach Jaskiewicz said the following on Farrell's selection: "
Luke Farrell has had a breakout season and he has become one of the top performers in the NEWMAC. His 37-point game against MIT was the most by any player in the league."
Farrell will lead a strong core of returners for the Bears into next season.
