SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - After trailing 3-2 entering the 6th inning, the Bears stormed back to score four in the inning and went on to win 9-4. With the loss, Springfield falls to 16-18(2-12 NEWMAC).
In the 6th, CGA loaded the bases with nobody out on a hit by pitch from
Kael Godshalk and singles by
John Tacchini and
John Carroll.
Luke Percifield came to the plate and delivered. The sophomore 3rd baseman from Pinellas Park, Florida tripled to score all three men and give Coast Guard the 5-3 lead.
Carson Cho singled to score Percifield and push the lead to three. The Bears added two more insurance runs in the 8th on a
Parker Madden single and another run in the 9th on a Cho RBI single.
On the mound, The Bears four pitchers allowed just one earned run.
Jack Gausselin threw the first 2.2 innings, striking out one and allowing no earned runs.
Tyler Michalek got out of a jam in the 3rd and threw the 4th and the 5th. The sophomore from Fort Worth, TX earned the victory, striking out four and allowing just one hit. Aidan Anderson and RJ Priddy each threw two innings to close out the game for Coast Guard.
At the plate,
Carson Cho led the way with three hits for the Bears.

John Tacchini,
John Carroll, and
Kael Godshalk all added two hits.
The Bears victory improves them to 22-9(11-3 NEWMAC). On Saturday in a home doubleheader vs Emerson they will celebrate their three seniors:
John Carroll,
Charles Red, and
John Tacchini. First pitch vs Emerson is scheduled for 12 PM.
