WELLESLEY, Mass. - The Women's Basketball Team was on the road facing Wellesley, bouncing back after suffering the loss to Babson, taking down the Blue with a final score of 71-41.
The Bears took control from the very beginning, opening the game on an 11 point run. The defense didn't allow Wellesley to get on the board until halfway through the first quarter. Offensively, the Bears never let up. They went up by as much as 21 in the first half alone.Â
By the time the break came, the Bears were leading, 41-22.Â
CGA scored first to open up the back half, with a three by
Kira Wood. Coast Guard continued to drain shots, never allowing Wellesley an opportunity.Â
Wood led all scorers with 20, followed by
Glory Blethen with 15 and
Kelly Hagerty with 14. Blethen led in rebounds and blocks with nine and two respectively. Six Bears ahd steals, led by
Julia Barbalato with two,
Coast Guard is now 15-4 overall and 4-1 in conference. They will next face Smith at home on January 30th at 7:30 PM.Â
