BOSTON, Mass. - Women's Soccer traveled to Boston last night to play the University of Massachusetts Boston, where they just fell in the second half 4-3.
In the first four minutes of the game, Kaylee Hanes was able to find the back of the net for a Beacons lead of 1-0.
The Bears were finally able to get on the board just before the end of the half, from a
Chase Merrick goal assisted by
Karagan Bulger at 44:31 in the first.
In the second half, the Beacons scored three in a row to take a 4-1 lead in the first 20 minutes of the second half.
Just four minutes later,
Mia Forti scored her second goal of the season to help the Bears claw their way back into the game.
The majority of the second both teams were shooting, but neither could connect. It wasn't until the last five minutes of the game, Merrick scored her second goal of the game for the Bears to trail by just one.
Despite the Bears outshooting the Beacons in both the first and second half, their shots were just not finding the back of the goal. Despite their fight back, the Bears would run out of time and fall 4-3 to the Beacons.
Coast Guard will hit the road this weekend and play Drew University at 3:30 PM this Saturday, Sep. 9th.
