Box Score 2 BOSTON, Mass. -- Softball continued New England Women and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) play against Emerson, winning game one 12-3 and game two 8-0.
In game one, Bears went on a seven-run rally in the first inning and didn't allow Emerson to cross homeplate until the bottom of the second. Grace Beaulieu was able to bat in one run for the Lions.
Bears continued to dominate and added two more runs in the top of the third inning for an 11-1 lead to start the bottom of the inning. The Lions would score two more but it would not be enough to overcome the Bears.
CGA Softball would run-rule the Lyons after five innings, for a 12-3 win in game one.
Christine Carey went three for three at the plate in game one and earned two RBIs. Lillia Farlow would go three for four and also have two RBIs.
Isabelle Shroyer had two strikeouts in five innings pitched.
In game two, CGA attacked first. Farlow hit a two-run homer in the top of the first to give the Bears the immediate lead.
Bears continued to dominate all of game two. Dana Walker pitched an almost perfect game for the Bears and only allowed the Lions to have one hit all game. Walker threw seven strikeouts in seven innings pitched.
Bears Softball did well offensively in game two with Selena Serna and Farlow each having a homerun. Christine Carey hit two doubles and Walker had one double as well.
CGA Softball is back in action this Wednesday, April 12th, on their home field at 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM against Mitchell College.
