Box Score 2 NEW LONDON, Conn. – Today Bears Softball played a doubleheader against The WPI Goats, taking one of two games.
After the first five innings, neither team could seem to get much of anything going at the plate. After five, the score remained 0-0, with the Goats having three hits and the Bears having four.
In the bottom of the sixth, Bears attacked first after Lillia Farlow doubled and hit in teammate Christine Carey for a 1-0 lead.
WPI would not be able to answer back and CGA would take game one.
Isabelle Shroyer pitched a great game, having three strikeouts and only allowing three hits.
At the plate, Carey went three for three in game one.
In game two, neither team could get across the plate in the first two innings.
The Goats got on the board first, scoring four in the top of the third. The Bears answered back in the bottom of the fourth, but were only able to get one in.
Bears Softball could not get things going offensively and would end up falling 4-1, in the second game.
Dana Walker pitched a great game for the Bears and had six strikeouts in seven innings.
Bears Softball is now 2-2 in conference play and looks to redeem themselves this Saturday as they face Emerson on the road at 1:30 and 3:30 PM.
