WENHAM, Mass. - Women's Basketball is on the road competing in the Gordon Classic, taking down Dean in game one and advancing to 4-0 on the season.
The entire game was dominated by the Bears on both sides of the ball, finishing with a final score of 77-19.
The first quarter, the defense of Cost Guard didn't allow Dean to get on the board. Thee Bears outscored the Bulldogs, 27-0. Still holding strong well into the second quarter, CGA held its opponent to just four points.
Heading into halftime, the Bears were leading, 46-4.
It was much of the same in the second half for Coast Guard. The defense held Dean to 18 points between the two quarters, while the offense continued to put up points, scoring 31.
The 77-19 victory over Dean is the largest win for Coast Guard this season.
Dorothy Stotts led both teams in scoring with 14 followed by
Kelly Hagerty with 13 and
Mackenzie Hilden with 12. The Bears as a whole had 60 rebounds. Hilden had 10 while Hagerty had nine. Hagerty also recorded two blocks.
Coast Guard will take on Elms College tomorrow at 1 PM in the second game of the Gordon Classic.
